This picture was taken from behind the mill in Stalbridge Lane, a bit different from the usual view on calendars etc. This time of year with all the foliage and the trees it made a nice frame for the mill. The weather was very promising and we had to go to Sturminster Newton for some shopping so we made a detour to Sturminster Mill. I knew the light would be OK later in the day the front would be in shadow. I walked over to the other side of the river and took this shot [...] I am now trying to get perhaps a hour or two a week when I just go off and take some photos, without dogs to enable me to concentrate fully on what I am trying to take a picture of rather than keeping an eye on them! Like the show of bluebells this year the buttercups in the meadows round home have put on a real show. I took this one evening when we were taking the dogs out with the view of Hambledon Hill in the background. |
